Department of Information Technology was established in the year 2001 with intake of 40 seats.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY - the exploring Engineering Technology deals with real time computer applications and executive managerial skills to bring out the genuine talents of our students to face the newly arising challenges in this competitive world.

The department being coalesced with eminent faculties, with their diligence and dedication, aimed at charting out the disciplined and quality technocrats to our society. The department emphasize interactive learning environment that ensure the students to have in-depth knowledge in their field.

We encourage our students to participate in the technical symposium organized by various reputed institutions. Our budding engineers show much interest in presenting papers and they bag awards when they come back. Our people have global exposure in blooming technologies.

Our IT computer lab is fully equipped with high end IBM systems, installed with highly expensive software such as Rational Suite Architect, Adobe Software, Web Sphere, DB2 and Macromedia collections for the utilization of our students.

We have central computing centre equipped with 80 high end configuration Systems. This lab is provided with 24*7 internet facility and with high data rate of 8MBps speed.

Our department library holds books around 300 volumes and is used by our faculties and students for their reference.

To expose the inborn talents of the students, the department has association named INTOP (Information Technology Association an Oasis for Professional). Group Discussions, Seminars, Quiz Programmes, Puzzles solving, Aptitude tests are organized to make the students effective and efficient in their communication and analytical skills.

By conducting Guest Lectures and various placement programmes, we train our students to get placed through campus interviews. The students were placed in HCL, TCS, CTS, IBM, LUCID, TECHNOLOGIES, Veryx Technologies, Educomp Technologies, CLAIRVOYNT, SUTHERLAND, Rajashree systems (P) Ltd and in other reputed software concerns.

As the part of Anna University curriculum, Industrial Visits are arranged every year to train our students in the operating environment to enrich their industrial knowledge. In order to gain the corporate skills and to have in-depth knowledge in their field, we make our students to undergo in-plant training during their semester holidays.
