Welcome to the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering College of Syed Ammal Engineering College, Lanthai, Ramanathapuram.

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established in the year 1998 with the vision to contribute quality Engineers to society by making students powerful and employable in Electronics, Communication and Computer technologies.In 2005, the intake was further increased to 120. The Department has well-experienced faculty members in all specializations such as VLSI design, Applied Electronics, Microwave & Optical Engineering Communication Systems, Medical Electronics, Digital image processing, Digital Systems and Embedded systems. The Department Laboratories are well equipped along with required Hardware and Software withcomputer systems and highly configured computational units.

The Department has also initiated two professional societies namely, IEEE and IETE society. The department organizes various training programs with renowned expert trainers from industries to improve the oral and aptitude skills of students so that they are easily hired by leading core and IT industries.

The Department excels with an outcome of 70% of students getting placed in various top companies like Infosys, Wipro, CTS, Smartladders, Buddyhealth and LMES etc. Students pursue higher studies in leading universities and the department secured Anna University Gold Medal during the years 2004, 2020 and 2021 and earns more Anna University ranks every year.Our students of ECE have participated in The Smart India Hackathon 2019 under the Government of India in an innovative nation.

Faculty members innovate, conduct and research for their self-renewal, keep abreast with changes in technology, and develop expertise for effective implementation of curricula. Our faculty members have received honours and awards for remarkable services in academics and research. The department faculty has filed patents to carry out the research work. The faculty members attend FDPs and workshops regularly to develop their teaching and research skills.
